my very close cousin was killed 2weeks after he was in-country in Vietnam in 1969. If my father had been killed in 911, I'd be right there with you in the hate. Noisecollector is one of the few here that are REALLY anti-jihadists in a public forum way. There's another here who's brother-(i think) was killed in one of the towers.
Considering your father, I do understand your feelings.
My time in Vietnam didnt include combat, but was rather harsh at times anyway-Tet 1967.

About "niggah" JZ knows the distinction between a normal(black)person & "niggah". To me, though I don't condone the term or use it, a niggah is one who uses his race to put me down, ie, a racist. The attorney general wants more communication about racism?? OK, +70% of all UScombat troops killed in Iraq were/are white boys. Whitey died BIG Time in the civil war liberating slaves. Not all whites are bad AND not all blacks are good. One should judge one on their charactor, and not by the colour of their skin...hear that Mr.Attorney General?

Rastamon, you referred to your Vietnam service as "Tet, 1967," but as I understand it, Tet is a time rather than a place. Would I be rude asking where you were stationed?

The reason I ask is that my dad was at Enari that year. He died 15 years ago (Agent Orange caught up to him) and I haven't yet found anyone who served with him, but I keep looking. I know it's a long shot, but could that be where you were, or do you know anyone who was?

If you'd rather, my private e-mail is jbmartin at nwi dott net. Thanks!

Shit, you do look like richie valens! The lou diamond philip version anyway! And even though you said that, I still picture you trudgin through the rice paddies on purple haze with an afro and a red bandana on your head with a young martin sheen on one side and tim robbins circa jacob's ladder on the other side taking constant fire from charlie and sayin stuff like "we are in the shit, man".
